“We affirm our absolute rejection of the UN Security Council’s decision on the Gaza Strip, considering it an attempt to impose guardianship through the so-called “Peace Council,” which has been granted transitional and sovereign authorities that reproduce the occupation in a new form, sideline the Palestinian role, and strip the UN of its mandate.

San Jose, CA – On Thursday, November 6, dozens of people attended the Santa Clara County Finance and Government Operations Committee (FGOC) meeting in support of an ethical investment policy that would bar the county from investing further into fossil fuel companies.

Seattle  protest against U.S. intervention in Venezuela.

Seattle, WA – Seattle anti-war activists rallied November 15 at Mount Baker Light Rail station for a short program of speeches before marching to the nearby overpass, where they dropped a banner and chanted to denounce the U.S. sinking of Venezuelan boats. Pedestrians slowed to watch, with some taking photos and others raising fists in solidarity as the group made their demands for an end to U.S. military action in Venezuela.

Chicago students take their demands to the board of trustees.

Chicago, IL – In the early morning of Thursday, November 13, dozens of student and union activists demonstrated outside of the UIC Dorin Forum in Chicago to demand that the University of Illinois (U of I) System Board of Trustees increase funding for cultural centers and divest from the genocidal state of Israel. The U of I System encompasses three universities – the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and University of Illinois Springfield.

Chicago, IL – On Tuesday, November 4, several organizations led by the Chicago Committee Against War & Racism organized a press conference demanding that the United States stay out of Venezuela.

“Viva viva Venezuela,” the crowd chanted, showcasing their support of Venezuela and opposition to a U.S. invasion.

Arizona protest against war on Venezuela.

Tucson, AZ – Three progressive Veterans organizations and others joined the Tucson Anti-War Committee outside the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base on Veterans Day, November 11, to protest the Trump administration’s war escalations on Venezuela. The group of nearly two dozen protesters received many more supportive honks from passing cars than in previous years – a sign that the tide has shifted as more Americans are fed up with the endless war machine.

Press conference in Minnesota Capitol rotunda hails wins in forcing state government divestment from apartheid Israel.

St. Paul, MN – Palestine solidarity advocates vowed to press ahead with demands for Minnesota divestment from Israel’s crimes after the State Board of Investment (SBI) released data showing it held just one remaining Israel Bond after a series of bond sales and non-renewals. At a Monday, November 10, press conference at the State Capitol rotunda, speakers from local organizations explained the significance of the disclosure and outlined next steps for divestment.

Tampa protest demands release of Palestinian American teenager held in Israeli prison.

Tampa, FL – On Saturday, November 8, over 100 protesters gathered at Tampa City Hall to call for the immediate release of Mohammed Ibrahim, a 16-year-old Palestinian American from Palm Bay, Florida, who had been illegally detained by Israeli forces since February, while visiting family in the occupied West Bank.

Jacksonville, FL- On Tuesday, Nov. 4, former national security advisor Brett McGurk made an appearance at University of North Florida (UNF) for a talk on “Geopolitical Hotspots.” McGurk as a security advisor was an advocate of the U.S invasion of Iraq and is a staunch advocate of the collective punishment of occupied people of Palestine.

Louisiana State University students rally outside their Student Union with chants and signs in support of a free Palestine.

Baton Rouge, LA – On Wednesday, November 5, about 40 Louisiana State University (LSU) students gathered outside their Student Union to protest the “Triggered: From Combat to Campus” tour by Students Supporting Israel, which featured an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldier. The tour drew similar protests at Tulane University earlier in the week.

San Jose, California protest against Israeli violations of ceasefire.

San Jose, CA – On October 29 in downtown San Jose outside the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library, about 30 people gathered to protest Israel’s violation of the ceasefire. The days before the action have been the deadliest of Israel’s violations, with over 100 Palestinians murdered in Gaza, almost half of them children, and with at least 250 more injured.

New Orleans, LA – On the night of Monday, November 3, 60 Tulane students and community members gathered for a noise demonstration to protest the first stop of a national “Combat on Campus Tour” of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers. The IDF event was hosted by Tulane Students Supporting Israel (SSI) at the Chabad Center of Louisiana near Tulane University’s campus.
