Salt Lake City, UT – Palestinian solidarity activists attended a vigil, May 15, commemorating the Nakba, Arabic for “catastrophe,” the genocidal expulsion of Palestinians by the Zionists. From 1947 to 1949, Palestinians were killed and pushed from their homes in the drive to create Israel.

Minneapolis marks Al-Nakba, stands in solidarity with Palestine.

Minneapolis, MN – Over 50 protesters picketed in front of Senator Amy Klobuchar’s office, May 15, and then marched across 35W to the Minneapolis West Bank neighborhood to commemorate Al-Nakba, which means the catastrophe in Arabic.

Havana, Cuba – On May 1, hundreds of thousands of Cuban workers marched through Revolution Square to mark International Workers’ Day. Marchers at the front carried the banner bearing the words of the Cuban Workers Federation (CTC) declaration at their most recent Congress: “United in the construction of socialism.”

University of Minnesota students support Venezuela’s Bolivarian revolution

Minneapolis, MN -Students gathered in the middle of the University of Minnesota (UMN) campus in solidarity with Venezuela's Bolivarian Revolution. Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) waved the Venezuelan flag and distributed fliers condemning U.S. government-backed efforts to overthrow Venezuela’s President Maduro. In its latest move, the White House imposed newly heightened sanctions against officials of the Venezuelan government.
