Beware of perfumes and cosmetics.
Do you suffer from a lack of attention and focus?
Have you ever thought that your perfume or lipstick is the reason?
Perhaps this reason is far from feeling that accusing fingers usually point to foodstuffs or some medications in cases of distraction or lack of focus. Still, a recent American study warned of the negative impact of certain substances in what teenagers consume from beauty products, perfumes, and personal hygiene products, especially if it's daily use.
Attention Deficit Disorder

The study results, published by the Deutsche Welle website, indicated that these products might be the cause of some teenagers' problems with concentration, known medically as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
The results were obtained by drawing urine samples from 205 male and female teens to reveal the percentage of chemicals in their bodies. The research team relied on a survey conducted to identify adolescents' behavior, in which both parents and teachers also participated.

During the study conducted at Harvard Medical School, the researchers found an existing relationship between the symptoms of attention deficit and hyperactivity in adolescents. According to a research paper published recently on the scientific site (JAMA), the consumption of products that contain substances disrupts the work of the endocrine glands in the body. And the endocrine glands are responsible for the secretion of hormones that play a fundamental role in the processes of growth and reproduction and the regulation of the muscular system's functions.

One of the most critical materials used in the manufacture and packaging of these products is phthalates, which are usually used to manufacture plastic products to increase their flexibility, transparency, durability, and extend their life.
The harm of these substances to adolescents comes because they act as synthetic hormones that negatively affect the work of the natural hormones that the body naturally produces, such as the male hormone (testosterone).
The researchers found that exposure to some of these substances during adolescence can be linked to ADHD, but this link appeared stronger in males than females.
