Roscoe's Quick Notes

my micro-blog

My day was productive early, then ... After another insomnia-filled night I got to work very early with some ambitious chores I'd set for myself. By Noon with more accomplished than I'd actually expected I made a quick shopping trip and did some good eating, Taking a much needed nap swallowed up most of the rest of my afternoon. Now with the early evening here, I aim for a quiet end to this Tuesday.

One very full Monday is almost in the books. The many meetings, both virtual and face to face, went well. If I can read the writing on the wall, today has given me hints of tasks that lie ahead of me. Don't know yet exactly when they'll happen, but there are a number of Brother Knights and Knights' Ladies who are elderly and gravely ill. Wakes, Rosary Services, and Funeral Masses: yes, I'm going to be busy.

So tomorrow I have an annual in-office Drs. appointment with my primary health care Doctor. Rather than schlep in a big box of all the meds, vitamins, health food supplements I use daily, my plan is to print out a detailed list of all that stuff and bring that list into the office. I might even get fancy and add pictures of everything. That'll be my primary chore today.

One quiet and happy Saturday. Told Sylvia I was pivoting away from planning a Spring weekend at the Convention in Dallas, toward planning a week for us in July visiting her daughter in Washington State. She seems happy with that decision. And I've been binge watching a Firefly Marathon on Comet TV.

This has been a quiet Friday. The only constructive thing I've done is order Sylvia's Valentines Day gift and card. And I reactivated my twitter account: mainly because so many sources of information are linking back to twitter postings and without an active account I was unable to follow them.

Headed to bed early again tonight and hoping for another good sleep. Shoulders are a bit sore from pushing a grocery cart around the HEB store while the wife loaded it up. Then carrying the haul from the car into the house. I'm glad she asked me to go shopping with her. I hate the thought of that little woman having to push such a heavily loaded cart up and down those long aisles.

What a full day it's already been! Figured and filed my federal taxes, wrote a lengthy report and sent it to two fellow KofC officers, and sorted and filed a good amount of paperwork in my home/office. And I've been experimenting with a new blog tool that I may employ in publishing archives of my posts.

Today finds me parked in front of the computer for several hours as I build the January Monthly Newsletter for my Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly. The weather outside is unusually cold for South Texas, so it's good that I'm working indoors. And for those keeping score, today finds me feeling relatively well, considering that I'm a senior citizen working through my mid-70s.

Happy to report I'm feeling much better today than yesterday. Energy levels are still low, and there's a bit of vertigo to deal with, but moving through the day's chores (weekly laundry, etc.) has been easy. A power nap this afternoon was very welcome.

Feeling slightly unwell today. Glad I decided to stay home from Mass. If I'm starting to come down with something, mingling with a crowd of heavily vaxxed and boosted people is the very last thing I should do! There is flu going around, and I don't want any part of that!
