A Mysterious Monday this has been. I am happy to say I kept up with things rather well. And my slow recovery continues. Today has seen the back pain diminish even more, though I remain unsteady on my feet. The challenge going forward will be to move ahead moderately with my chores, and allow LOTS of rest and recovery time.

Pain level today is slightly less than yesterday's, thank God! But it's still pretty significant. And I'm still too unsteady on my feet to leave the house.
My working theory du jour is that I “overdid” myself with yard work last week, especially the cutting of big branches that were recently felled from a big tree in my back yard. And that I didn't allow enough recovery time between work sessions. So as I continue my long recovery from the 07 May fall, I'll have to watch that.

Rangers are leading the Rays in the early innings of their game this afternoon, and my back is hurting less than it has through most of this day.
Woke up in absolute misery this morning: hips, back, both shoulders, especially the left, VERY unsteady on my feet. Still. No way am I going to Mass this evening. And if I feel anything like this tomorrow, there'll be no going out then either.
At least my Rangers are winning their game. So far. There is that.

Here it comes! According to the Weather Widget on my phone, and the weather guys on local TV, we've got some serious heat in our near future. But, hey, this is South Texas, we should be expecting this.
Triple digits before Summer arrives. Yep.

A lot of physical labor late this morning and into the early afternoon (cutting those branches and limbs that came down during the weekend's storm) left me sweaty but Oh, So relaxed through the rest of the day. That's not a bad way to be.
Have spent most of the evening watching the Yankees / White Sox game. Nice!

Yesterday late afternoon through the evening found me bouncing between news reports from a variety of sources and baseball games until my Wheel of Fortune at 18:30 was followed by the Texas Rangers game at 19:00. And that took me to my nighttime prayers and a pretty good night's sleep. Hoping for another good night's sleep tonight, I'm following the same entertainment scheme this evening.

The first cup of evening coffee. You know, it may even taste better than the morning coffee. And that's saying a lot!

Midday Monday and all is well.
Taking advantage of yesterday's organizing, I completed a form Sylvia will need for her bonded title application. I fielded a call from my primary doctor's office and told them I'd already completed an eye doctor's appointment they asked about and have his report in my file. And I gathered material I'll need to complete a KofC project. All this before lunch.

This has been a good Sunday. Made it to my KofC Council's Corporate Mass today, I missed the last one. It was the first time I've seen some of these guys in a month.
After Mass I cleaned up a lot of the fallen tree limbs and branches the crew last night had left scattered around. Now they're in one big brush pile behind the sheds in my back yard.
Got off a couple Exemplification packets. Well, actually they'll go out tomorrow, no mail service on Sunday. but the packets are addressed, sealed, and stamped, ready for tomorrow's outbound.
And I even got a surprising amount of cleaning and organizing done back here in my home/office. Sure, there's more to do. Always more. But I go to bed tonight in a cleaner, better organized place.

“Honey, you've got a problem,” the wife announced from the door to my room as I was following a baseball game.
“Huh?” I replied, “what kind of a problem?”
“C'mere, let me show you.” And she took me out to the back yard.

Big old branch, must be 20 feet long and very big around came down, it must have been during last night's storm. and is covering and weighing down lines coming into our house (on the right in this photo) from the poles back in the alley.
Anyway I called the power company, reported this, and they said they'd send someone out to look at it later today.
Now, I'm not afraid to cut the big branch into little pieces so the City can haul it away. But I don't want do do that if there's electricity running through it. Know what I mean?
So I wait for the guys from the power company to arrive.
And the adventure continues.
